FRUIT SALAD in WINTER? that's why it's the perfect snack to get back in shape ..
Even in winter, when it is cold, fruit salad can be a valid alternative to snacks, especially in the afternoon when we cannot drink so much water and we need a load of vitamins, minerals, fibers and sugars to end the day of work or make the tasks. with momentum or in any case excellent to be included in your sports nutritional timing (we will talk about it later in the Program Nutri®SPORT ).
This winter fruit salad is wonderfully refreshing and packed with all the properties of this season's best fruits.
🍳 PREPARE with DNC® step by step
Step 1: CHOOSE SEASONAL FRUIT
In winter, fruit is certainly not like summer fruit. Those with a sweet tooth of watermelon, peaches and melons must surrender to more compact (and sugary ..) fruit such as apples, pears, bananas. But in winter we also have citrus fruits such as oranges mandarins grapefruits which give a fresh touch to our fruit salad. The basis for a fruit salad must always be of compact fruit.
Step 2: BALANCE THE DISH FOR A WOW EFFECT
All the chefs say it: "a good dish cannot be" boring "tastes must always be balanced and in the mouth the explosion and variety of tastes will make you remember a dish years later".
For the base of your fruit salad:
Choose apple or pear or banana (if you like its enveloping creaminess you can always add a few pieces).
For the fresh part:
Choose the most watery and juicy part such as mandarin or orange (but if you don't like it too sweet also grapefruit peeled with a knife)
For the surprise part:
Finally choose a crunchy part this season can be given by the pomegranate
Step 3: ASSEMBLE THE DISH
Do you have to bring this dish to the table for a surprise end of a meal for friends or relatives? Then DO NOT mix the fruit but arrange it in order (with logic) in a large round or oval shaped serving dish. Make a sauce of 1/2 squeezed lemon and 1/2 tangerine to prevent it from blackening. Are you at home and need to eat this colorful snack right away? Then mix everything in a bowl and distribute in the cups or bowls according to your portion (if you are an adult ok a fruit cup or a milk cup, if you are a child then you can use a cup or a glass) Do you want a boost of taste because the fruit salad for you is always sour? Then you can (if you do not have diseases such as diabetes) use a teaspoon of honey shaken with the juice of a mandarin, you will feel a little more sweetness without using refined sugars!
The Nutritionist recommends:
Mid-morning and afternoon snacks are the two favorite moments to eat fruit. Away from main meals, fruit is better digested and assimilated, providing an excellent nutritional intake to block hunger.
